Mr. Acebo focuses his practice on representing individuals in high net worth, financially complicated cases.  His extensive litigation experience includes representing couples in dissolution proceedings, resolution of challenges and defense of premarital and post nuptial agreements, investigating income and earnings, calculating the proper amount of alimony and child support and identification and valuation of assets for distribution.  In addition, Mr. Acebo handles paternity claims, matters contesting the relocation of children and cohabitation arrangements and issues particular to same-sex relationships and the LGBTQ community at large.  Mr. Acebo has had significant focus in assisting intended parents who seek to form families through the use of assisted reproductive technology including the drafting of sperm, egg and embryo donation and surrogacy contracts.

Prior to joining Bluestein and Wayne, P.A., Mr. Acebo was a prosecuting attorney for the State of Florida with the Miami-Dade State Attorneys Office where he prosecuted felony cases with a particular focus on cases involving domestic violence.  Following his time with the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office, Mr. Acebo prosecuted cases with the Office of Attorney General as a Specially Designated Assistant Statewide Prosecutor in the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit and then as an Assistant Statewide Prosecutor with the Office of Statewide Prosecution, where he headed investigations and prosecuted crimes involving health care fraud,  money laundering, organized  fraud  and  other complex financial crimes.  

Mr. Acebo is also an Adjunct Professor at Florida International University- College of Law where he teaches the Family Law Course. Mr. Acebo is Martindale-Hubbell AV rated and is featured in the South Florida Legal Guides listing of Top Lawyers in Marital and Family Law.  Mr. Acebo was born and raised in Miami, Florida and is fluent in both English and Spanish.
